OVERVIEW:
This trip combines the challenges of the Appalachian Mountain approaches found on the first day of the “ECIE”, with those of flying into the Washington, DC ADIZ, on the second day. From the weather and terrain challenges created by the Appalachians to the airspace and ATC challenges of the ADIZ, this trip has it all!
FOR WHOM IS IT DESIGNED?
This course is designed as a refresher course for already rated pilots (although IFR students may certainly take it as well) and serves as an excellent IPC (Instrument Proficiency Check). As in our other trips, two pilots typically share the flying chores (If only one pilot books the trip, we still go). The total flying time averages fourteen hours and 8 approaches will be flown, both precision and non-precision. Approaches will include ILS, LOC, VOR, and GPS. Pilots that are insured by Avemco will qualify for a 5% discount on their premiums upon completion of this trip. All pilots who book this trip will have to complete the FAA training available at the FAA website.
Pilots that are insured by Avemco Insurance Company will qualify for a 5% discount on their premiums upon completion of this trip.

DAY TWO:
After stopping in Lynchburg , VA we head to Gaithersburg , MD for a lunch stop. Do it wrong and you'll get to see an F16 up close and personal.
